Pre-Harvest Workshops

In collaboration with Scott Laboratories, Inc. Virginia Tech Enology Extension will offer three pre–harvest workshops.

Megan Hereford, Annamarie Howard and Molly Kelly will be the presenters.

 Please bring a lunch as none will be provided. We will include a brief sensory session so please bring one bottle that you would like assessed by the group.

 Topics will include Malolactic fermentation-the basics, timing of inoculation (including flavor implications), nutrients (do you need to add them?), problem MLF and solutions. The use of non-Saccharomyces yeast in winemaking. A review of YAN.
