Shenandoah Valley Phase II WIP Public Meeting

There will be a public meeting to learn more about next steps in the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) planning process, and to provide feedback on Virginia’s Phase II Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) that was submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency in March. The meeting will be held on May 31st at James Madison University, with support from the Shenandoah Valley Pure Water Forum, the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission, the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission, and the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.
During the meeting, attendees will receive a brief update on the status of the Phase II WIP from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), and hear from our two planning district commissions on how information was collected from local governments in the Shenandoah Valley for inclusion in the plan. In addition, DCR staff will provide an overview of the next steps in the Chesapeake Bay TMDL planning process, which will be followed by a comment period for attendees to provide feedback on the Phase II WIP.
Who should attend? Farmers, local elected officials, environmental stakeholders, and others interested.
