VVA Viticulture Trip to Chili and Argentina

VVA has announced its second overseas viticulture and wine making tour, the first having been to Bordeaux two years ago. This time we will be taking a 9-day trip to Chile and Argentina to seek out advanced viticulture and wine making in those rapidly developing countries. The dates will be from Saturday, February 20, 2016 to Sunday, February 28, as requested by the early responders.

The itinerary has been finalized. Some of the industry players we visit will be household names; some will be nearly unknown. Please read the VVA Chile Argentina Preliminary Brochure In addition to discussions on soils, climate, techniques (viticulture and wine making), and research projects, we will discuss industry development and business issues. We are also arranging friendly blind tastings of Virginia wines versus their South American counterparts. There will be some free time for sightseeing as well. Last time the tour sold out and several people, who eventually asked to go, were told we didn’t have room. As they say, this offer is open for a limited time. To reserve your spot(s) on the trip, fill out and forward a completed VVA 2016 Trip Enrollment Form to the address on the form. If you have any questions, contact Jim Benefiel, VVA Vice-President, directly.
