Two separate sessions will be offered: Friday, November 8, 9:00-3:00 pm or Monday, November 11th in the Virginia Tech, Food Science Building Teaching Laboratory, Blacksburg. This workshop is for winemakers that would like hands-on training in microscope use in the wine laboratory.
The instructor will be Molly Kelly, Enology Extension Specialist and topics will include:
• uses of a microscope in the winery lab
• correct use of a microscope
• slide preparation
• phase contrast microscopy
• culturing microorganisms in the winery
